Fictional data
What came back from one acquisition’s exports
The engine’s output on one fictional acquired agency’s files: column mapping, the conversion problems it found, and the commission statements reconciled against the book. Nothing below was edited by hand.
Fictional data. Harborline Insurance Partners and "Millrace Risk Advisors" are made up, with problems planted on purpose. The files were first run through our de-identification script, so names, codes and policy numbers are stable fakes and dates are shifted.

1. What came in
| File | Rows | Columns mapped |
|---|---|---|
| producers.csv | 4 | 4 of 4 |
| clients.csv | 67 | 5 of 5 |
| policies.csv | 216 | 11 of 11 |
| commissions-ASHG-2026-09.csv | 12 | 6 of 6 |
| commissions-BRWT-2026-09.csv | 11 | 6 of 6 |
| commissions-LNTF-2026-09.csv | 9 | 6 of 6 |
Each file kept its own column names (for example "Policy No", "Insurer Code", "Prem"); the engine mapped them to the platform’s standard fields without a hand-built template.
2. What the engine flagged
| Problem | Found |
|---|---|
| Rows missing a field the platform needse.g. Client CL-3E1F5629 (Client E2D2509E) has no ZIP code | 5 |
| One business entered as two or more clientse.g. 2 client records look like the same business: CL-02350C54 "Client B137B2FC", CL-4FE076DB "Client B137B2FC" | 3 |
| Policies with no producer, or one not on the rostere.g. Policy UMB826057482-02 has no producer | 3 |
| Carrier codes not on the platform liste.g. Carrier code PNMX on 4 policies ($46,800.00 premium) is not on the platform carrier list | 1 |
| Statement lines paid off the book’s rate or premiume.g. Ashgrove Mutual Insurance Co 2026-09: policy UMB229388742-02 paid $336.25, expected $403.50 (statement rate 12.5%, agency book 15%) | 4 |
| Statement lines for policies not in the exporte.g. Ashgrove Mutual Insurance Co 2026-09 paid $531.60 on policy GL622573685-01, which is not in the agency’s export | 2 |
3. Commission statements reconciled
| Statement | Lines | Paid | Expected | Variance | Flagged |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ashgrove Mutual Insurance Co 2026-09 | 12 | $8,018 | $7,686 | -$199 | 3 |
| Brightwater General Insurance 2026-09 | 11 | $11,470 | $11,470 | $0 | 0 |
| Lanternfield Specialty Insurance 2026-09 | 9 | $13,395 | $12,848 | -$391 | 3 |
| Total | $32,883 | -$590 |
Expected is the agency book’s premium times the book’s commission rate. A line outside 2% (or $5) of expected is flagged with the reason, and a line for a policy the agency never exported is listed on its own.
4. The book after conversion, by producer
| Producer | Policies | Premium | Commission revenue |
|---|---|---|---|
| PR-FF6714 | 33 | $350,600 | $41,459 |
| PR-D663BE | 29 | $302,805 | $35,128 |
| PR-71F5F6 | 26 | $212,965 | $25,591 |
| PR-6A1721 | 29 | $196,215 | $27,678 |
| No producer | 3 | $24,580 | $3,337 |
